Hello! Today for Cut At Home, I'd like to share a couple of adorable Valentine Milk Carton Treat Boxes.
I've used the beautiful Graphic 45 paper!
For this box, I've used Graphic 45's Children's Hour.
I first cut this box from my Silhouette Cameo, cutting a heart-shaped window. To the inside of the window, I used Heartfelt Creations Clear Cardstock. I've been having so much fun using this clear cardstock. It is much thicker then transparency paper. I've added that to the inside of my box. I then added my treats, tying it off with some beautiful pink satin ribbon, and added a couple of charms.
If you do not own a Cameo, and would like to make a box of your own, I have figured out the measurements for you. They are very quick, easy & fun to make, and you only need one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper!
For this box, I've used Graphic 45's Cityscapes.
Here are the directions. I also have a full start to finish video, where I walk you through this process. Please click on the video at the bottom of this post, if you'd like to view it.
Directions:
Cut cardstock, or patterned paper to 10 1/2" x 7 3/4".
Score: (on 10 1/2" side) at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2", 10".
Score: (on 7 3/4" side) at 2 3/8" and 6".
Cut cardstock, or patterned paper to 10 1/2" x 7 3/4".
Score: (on 10 1/2" side) at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2", 10".
Score: (on 7 3/4" side) at 2 3/8" and 6".
Cut off the top & bottom tabs on the 1/2" score mark. Leave tab in the middle, as this will adhere your box together.
Here is what it will look like:
Next, you want to cut (on the 10 1/2" side) each score mark. Cut up to, but not over your middle score marks. You want to cut a slight triangle out. This will help alleviate bulk when folding.
Here is what it will look like:
On the flap closest to your tab, cut 1/2" off the top & bottom. Then skip a flap & do the same to your third flap...both top & bottom. If you choose to add a decorative border to your box, you would do that at this point, to the taller top two flaps.
You may also choose to die cut the front of your box, to add a window. Simply choose one of the middle panels of your box, punch out a shape, or run it through your die-cutting machine. Add your Heartfelt Creations Clear Cardstock to the inside of your box.
Now you are ready to adhere your box together. Fold along all your score lines, add Angel Craft Tape to your tab & fold over. Then for the bottom of your box, simply fold over your two shorter tabs & adhere down. Do the same for the top of your box, first adding your treats. Then embellish.
I hope you've enjoyed today's project. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a Happy Valentines Day!
